Coconut Oil Fizz Recipe: So Easy, So Fun!

We love sharing our recipes so you and your little ones can craft and play at home. Our Coconut Oil Fizz is fun for so many reasons, it takes 2 minutes to make and only needs water to fizzle and pop! Here is what you’ll need and how to do it…

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)

  • ½ cup citric acid

  • ½ cup cornflour (cornstarch)

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (melted)

  • 1–2 teaspoons water or witch hazel (use a spray bottle for control)

  • Optional: natural food colouring

Instructions:

  1. Mix dry ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, combine the baking soda, citric acid, and cornflour. Mix thoroughly to remove clumps.

  2. Add melted coconut oil:

    • Drizzle the melted coconut oil into the dry mix and stir well. It should resemble damp sand.

  3. Add colour (optional):

    • Add natural colouring if desired and mix until evenly distributed.

  4. Carefully add liquid:

    • Lightly spray with witch hazel, mixing constantly.

To Use:

Spray with water and watch it fizz!
