Why Our Playgroup Welcomes Ages 0–5 (Even Though We Focus on 6 Months to 3 Years)

One of the most common questions we get asked is why our playgroup is open to children aged 0 to 5, even though our activities are primarily designed for little ones between 6 months and 3 years. The short answer? We want to make life easier for parents.

We know firsthand how challenging it can be to find activities that work when you have more than one child. Most programs are designed around very specific age groups—and while that can be great for focused learning, it often leaves parents of multiple young children with a tough choice: leave one child at home or skip the activity altogether. That’s not an easy decision when you’re trying to offer all your children enriching experiences.

That’s why our playgroup is intentionally flexible.

Our core activities—sensory play, music, nature, STEM exploration, and open-ended play—are crafted with our target age group of 6 months to 3 years in mind. This is such a critical stage for development, but we also create space for older siblings to join in and get just as much out of it.

There’s no awkward age cutoff or expectation that a 4-year-old will just sit on the sidelines. We design our sessions to be inclusive and relaxed. Older siblings often enjoy helping out, exploring materials in their own way, or simply playing nearby in a safe, welcoming environment.

By keeping our age range open from birth to five years old, we’re helping parents show up, participate, and connect—without having to arrange childcare or juggle schedules.

Because parenting is full enough already. Finding a joyful, low-pressure playgroup shouldn’t add to the stress.

So bring your baby, bring your toddler, bring your preschooler (at no additional cost!). Everyone’s welcome here.
