A Sensory Tea Party: but for SNIFFING not Sipping!

This is such a fun one for little noses, and the options you can use are endless! Little ones can mix and muddle and stir and sniff. This type of olfactory play supports early cognitive development and helps lay the foundation for descriptive language, memory, and even emotional regulation.

Here are a few ideas we used in ours:

  • Lemon slices

  • Lavender Buds

  • Honey-coloured Vinegar (yellow + brown food dye)

  • Vanilla cream and sugar (vanilla extract mixed with flour and water and vanilla extract mixed with salt)

  • Mint Leaves

Ready to give it a try at home? What ideas do you have for yours? If you set up a Sensory Tea Party, tag us so we can see! @sweetsensoryplay
